Chuckwagon sandwich
The chuckwagon sandwich is made with a deep-fried chicken steak on a layer of lettuce with tomato slices on top. This filling is stuffed between crispy sesame bread. This delicious, easy-to-make dish is perfect for an energizing breakfast.

Marinade and Batter
2 cups
buttermilk
1 cup
plain flour (placed in a plate)

1/4 cup
whole milk
2 tsp (each)
salt, garlic powder, chili powder
Chuckwagon Sandwich
1 loaf
sesame bread
2 slices
cube steak
2 tbsp
mayonnaise
1
sliced tomato
1 cup
shredded lettuce
2 - 3 cups
frying oil

Soak steak slices in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes or overnight. Add eggs, whole milk, salt, garlic powder, and chili powder to a bowl and mix thoroughly. Dip the marinated steak in flour and then in the egg wash.

Heat oil in a large skillet to 350oF/176oC. Place each steak in the skillet and fry for about 5 minutes per side. Transfer the steaks to a plate lined with a paper towel to drain.

Toast the sesame bread and cut it in half. Spread with mayonnaise, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and fried steak. Serve.
