Heat a large skillet over medium heat then add butter to cook until melted. Add onion and brats into the pan to cook for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides.

Add beer into the pan, lower the heat to medium-low and simmer the brats for 15 – 20 minutes, until the beer has reduced and the brats are cooked through.

Serve the brats with buns and favorite sauce or as desired.
